Doha, June 13 (QNA) – HE the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani met on Tuesday with the President of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Hamane Niang and accompanying delegation, who are visiting Doha.
This came as the official FIBA delegation paid an inspection visit to sport facilities and venues that will host the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027.
The meeting focused on aspects of booting sport cooperation and ways of developing it in the coming period.
It was attended by President of Qatar Basketball Federation Mohammed Saad Almeghaiseeb and FIBA secretary general Andreas Zagklis.
Earlier in April at a meeting in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, FIBA declared Qatar as a host nation of the flagship basketball event.
